Solutions and tutorials for common problems in door and window installation are recommended for collection!

The installation of doors and windows is a relatively delicate job in the process of home decoration. A little deviation will affect the overall use effect. Moreover, for ordinary families, the service life of doors and windows is relatively long, and special care is needed during decoration to ensure its service life.

However, despite our great attention, there will always be some small problems that continue to occur, some of which we don't even notice. Today, let's talk about some common mistakes and preventive measures during the installation of doors and windows.

Common construction problems--

1. There is a large deviation in the verticality of the front of the outer frame of the door and window, especially since the wooden door and window tenon are not dense. The joints are prone to warping and deformation, affecting the later aesthetics and practicality.

2. The installation position of the hardware hinges of the doors and windows is deviated, the size of the hinge slots is inconsistent, the edges of the doors and windows are not smooth, and the screws are not installed accurately enough.

3. The gaps at the vertical seams and joints of the doors and windows are too large, resulting in the doors and windows not being closed tightly, which makes it easy to leak in winter and rainwater easily flows into the room on rainy days.

Preventive measures--

1. The installation of doors and windows should be carried out strictly according to the construction specifications, and qualified materials should be purchased and operated according to the correct construction requirements. The owner also needs to inspect the materials in time.

2. The position of the hardware hinges of doors and windows must be accurate, the size of the hinges and the hinge slots should correspond, the depth should be consistent, and the installation position of the hinges should be at 1/10 of the height of the upper and lower sections of the doors and windows.

3. The opening and closing of doors and windows should be flexible and smooth, and make sure that the edges of the doors and windows have no warping or rebound problems. The installation of screws must be accurate, and avoid crookedness. The joints of doors and windows must be connected just right.

4. The lower frame device of the window frame should be raised. After the windowsill is smeared with cement, the height of the slope top and the lower frame of the window should be kept greater than 8 mm. A concave arc angle should be made so that the drainage of the window will be smoother.

5. The window cover process of doors and windows is well done to prevent damage to doors and windows and extend the service life of doors and windows.

Door and Window Installation Tutorial

Before installation, the accuracy of the shape and position of the door and window openings should be checked and verified. Check whether the number and position of the embedded concrete meet the design requirements and whether the high-rise windows are connected to the lightning protection belt as required. For unqualified parts, the construction unit should be urged to make corrections.

1. Marking and positioning

(1) According to the installation position, size, and elevation of the doors and windows in the design drawings, measure the door and window edges on both sides based on the center line of the doors and windows. If it is a multi-story or high-rise building, take the top floor door and window edges as the standard, use a plumb line or theodolite to draw the door and window edges down, and mark the door and window openings on each floor. Individual non-straight edges should be chiseled out.

(2) The horizontal position of the doors and windows should be based on the horizontal line of the floor indoor +1250px, the window bottom skin elevation should be measured upwards, and the line should be marked to make it straight. The window bottom skin elevation must be kept consistent on each floor.

2. Aluminum alloy window spout installation

Fix the spout on the aluminum alloy window according to the construction drawings, and ensure the position is correct and the installation is firm.

3. Anti-corrosion treatment

(1) If the design requires anti-corrosion treatment of the outer surface of the door and window frames, treat it according to the design requirements. If the design does not require it, you can apply anti-corrosion paint or stick plastic film to protect cement mortar from directly contacting the surface of aluminum alloy doors and windows, causing electrochemical reactions and corroding aluminum alloy doors and windows.

(2) When installing aluminum alloy doors and windows, if connecting iron parts are used for fixing, it is best to use stainless steel for connecting iron parts, fixing parts, and other installation metal parts. Otherwise, anti-corrosion treatment must be carried out to prevent electrochemical reactions and corrosion of aluminum alloy doors and windows.

4. Installation of aluminum alloy doors and windows

Install the aluminum alloy door and window frames according to the marked door and window positioning lines. Adjust the horizontal, vertical, and diagonal lengths of the door and window frames in time to meet the quality standards, and then temporarily fix them with wooden wedges.

5. Fixing of aluminum alloy doors and windows

(1) When there are pre-embedded iron parts on the wall, the iron feet of the aluminum alloy doors and windows can be directly welded to the pre-embedded iron parts on the wall. The welding points need to be rust-proofed.

(2) When there are no embedded iron parts on the wall, the iron feet of the aluminum alloy doors and windows can be fixed to the wall with metal expansion bolts or plastic expansion bolts.

(3) When there are no embedded iron parts on the wall, you can also use an electric drill to drill a hole 80mm deep and 6mm in diameter and use an L-shaped 80mm×50mm 6rmn steel bar. Apply 108 glue slurry on the long end and then drive it into the hole. After the 108 glue slurry is finally set, weld the iron feet of the aluminum alloy doors and windows to the embedded 6mm steel bar.

6. Treatment of the gap between the door and window frame and the wall

(1) After the aluminum alloy doors and windows are installed and fixed, the hidden project acceptance should be carried out first. After passing the acceptance, the gap between the door and window frame and the wall should be treated in time according to the design requirements.

(2) If the design does not require it, elastic insulation materials or glass wool felt strips can fill the gap in layers. A 5~8mm deep groove on the outer surface should be left to fill the caulking paste or sealant.

7. Installation of door and window panels and door and window glass

1) Door and window panels and door and window glass should be installed after the surface decoration of the opening wall is completed.

2) After the sliding doors and windows are installed and fixed on the door and window frames, the door and window panels with glass are installed into the slideway in the frame, and the gap between the frame and the panels is adjusted.

3) After the casement doors and windows are assembled on the wall and fixed with the frame and panel grid, the glass is installed. That is, the gap between the frame and the panel is adjusted first, the glass is installed in the panel and adjusted in position, and finally, the sealing strip and sealant are embedded.

4) The floor spring door should be installed after the door frame and the floor spring main unit are installed and fixed in the ground. First, embed the glass into the door panel grid and put it into the frame together, adjust the gap between the frame and the panel, and finally fill the sealing strip and sealant of the door panel glass.

8. Construction precautions

1) When using multiple sets of combined doors and windows, pay attention to the assembly quality. The joints should be flat, without split edges or corners.

2) During construction, the product must be strictly protected. The damaged protective tape and film must be promptly sealed, and the mortar dirt splashed on the surface of the doors and windows must be promptly removed to prevent the surface of the doors and windows from being contaminated and bitten.

3) The thickness of the door and window glass and the size of the sash inlay groove and the sealing strip must comply with national standards and design requirements. When installing the sealing strip, there must be room for expansion to prevent the sealing strip from falling off.
