How to choose the right glass for doors and windows?

1. Heat-absorbing coated glass

For rooms facing the sun or west, heat-absorbing coated glass should be used for doors and windows. Heat-absorbing coated glass can be used for the outside of the room, and white glass can be used for the indoor side. Since heat-absorbing glass receives infrared rays, it can attenuate 20%-30% of the solar energy entering the room, thereby reducing the heat energy entering the room.

2. Insulating glass

Due to the low thermal conductivity of the sealed central air layer, the thermal insulation performance of aluminum insulating glass can be improved by two times compared with single-piece glass, which can greatly reduce the power consumption of buildings equipped with air conditioners. Insulating glass can insulate more than 70% in summer, and keep the indoor heat from dissipating easily in winter, reducing heat loss by up to 40%, playing a role in heat preservation. Insulating glass is more energy-efficient.

3. Tempered glass

Tempered glass is a safety glass. If tempered glass is used for both indoor and outdoor glass, the impact resistance and safety of the glass are greatly enhanced both indoors and outdoors. Since the impact resistance of tempered glass is 5-10 times that of ordinary glass, and its bending resistance is 3-5 times that of ordinary glass, the safety function is greatly improved.

4. Laminated glass

Even if the glass is broken, the fragments will be stuck to the film, and the broken glass surface will remain clean and smooth. This effectively prevents the occurrence of fragments stabbing and penetrating falling incidents, ensuring personal safety. In Europe and the United States, most architectural glass uses laminated glass, which is not only to avoid injury accidents but also because laminated glass has excellent earthquake resistance.
